DAY TRIP LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast at your accommodation, you'll be picked up for a journey to Lake Manyara National Park. Situated along the northwest bank and encompassing part of the alkaline Lake Manyara within the Great Rift Valley, the park is renowned for its vibrant populations of flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants. Ornithologists will find themselves in paradise amidst the park's diverse avian inhabitants, which include several hundred species of birds.
But Lake Manyara offers more than just a birding haven. The park is also home to the renowned "Big Game." If luck is on your side, you may encounter elephants among the wooded areas, and with even greater fortune, witness the spectacle of tree-climbing lions. For a long time, it was believed that Lake Manyara National Park was the sole location where lions exhibited this atypical behavior of ascending trees.
Baboons and vervet monkeys frolic amidst the forested areas, while giraffes gracefully feed on fresh leaves in the open spaces. Various species of antelopes endemic to the region can also be spotted browsing for delectable shoots.
After lunch, we'll make our way back to Arusha, or if you prefer, we can drop you off at the airport.
