Kilimanjaro Trekking Adventure Via Machame Route from Zanzibar.

Day 1: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Begin your adventure at Machame Gate (1,800 m) after registration. Trek through lush montane rainforest, alive with birdcalls and colobus monkeys, before emerging at Machame Camp (3,000 m) for your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Leave the rainforest behind and ascend into the moorland zone, where giant heathers and volcanic rock formations dominate the landscape. Cross ridges and valleys until you reach Shira Camp (3,840 m) on the Shira Plateau, enjoying spectacular views of Kibo Peak.

Day 3: Shira Camp To Baracco Camp via Lava Tower

Today is a key acclimatization day as you climb to Lava Tower (4,630 m) before descending to Barranco Camp (3,976 m). This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to altitude, while the descent into Barranco Valley offers breathtaking scenery.

Day 4: Baracco Camp to Karanga Camp

Begin with an adventurous scramble up the Barranco Wall, rewarded with panoramic views. Continue through alpine desert terrain, crossing valleys before arriving at Karanga Camp (3,995 m), your final acclimatization stops before the summit push.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend steadily to Barafu Camp (4,673 m), your base for the summit attempt. The camp offers stunning views of both Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Rest and prepare for your midnight climb to the summit.

Day 6: Barafu Camp To Summit (Uhuru Peak) to Mweka Camp

Start your final ascent at midnight, slowly climbing to Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) at sunrise. After celebrating your summit, descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for a restful night.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

After breakfast, you'll continue the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). Dancing Simba Safaris vehicle will be waiting for you at Mweka gate to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha.

Day 8: Departure Via Kilimanjaro Airport
