Day by Day Safari Itinerary

From Kilimanjaro’s Peaks to the Savannah Adventures ending in Zanzibar’s pristine Shores.

Day 1: Machame Gate To Machame Camp.

Begin your adventure at Machame Gate (1,800 m) after registration. Trek through lush montane rainforest, alive with birdcalls and colobus monkeys, before emerging at Machame Camp (3,000 m) for your first night on the mountain.

Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Leave the rainforest behind and ascend into the moorland zone, where giant heathers and volcanic rock formations dominate the landscape. Cross ridges and valleys until you reach Shira Camp (3,840 m) on the Shira Plateau, enjoying spectacular views of Kibo Peak.

Day 3: Shira Camp to Baracco Camp(Via Lava Tower)

Today is a key acclimatization day as you climb to Lava Tower (4,630 m) before descending to Barraco Camp (3,976 m). This “climb high, sleep low” approach helps your body adjust to altitude, while the descent into Barranco Valley offers breathtaking scenery.

Day 4: Baracco Camp to Karanga Camp

Begin with an adventurous scramble up the Barranco Wall, rewarded with panoramic views. Continue through alpine desert terrain, crossing valleys before arriving at Karanga Camp (3,995 m), your final acclimatization stops before the summit push.

Day 5: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Ascend steadily to Barafu Camp (4,673 m), your base for the summit attempt. The camp offers stunning views of both Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. Rest and prepare for your midnight climb to the summit.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp

Start your final ascent at midnight, slowly climbing to Stella Point and then Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise. After celebrating your summit, descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for a restful night.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Arusha

After breakfast, you'll continue the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). Monkey Adventures vehicle will be waiting for you at Mweka gate to drive you back to your hotel in Moshi/Arusha.

Day 8: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey with a Transfer by Road to Tarangire National Park. Known for its towering baobab trees and herds of gentle giants, Tarangire sets a magical tone for the safari. Enjoy a Guided Game Drive through golden grasslands and spot elephants, lions, and more. As the sun dips low, watch the sky glow while holding hands, a wild and beautiful beginning to your love story.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a Transfer by road through the highlands and down into the endless plains of Serengeti. Settle into your romantic safari tent, then head out on an afternoon Guided Game Drive. End the day with a private bush dinner under a starlit African sky.
