Day 1: Materuni Waterfalls

Set off for Materuni village, nestled at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, and famous for its authentic Chagga culture and stunning waterfall. Begin with a simple short hike to Materuni Waterfall, one of the tallest and most beautiful falls in the Kilimanjaro region, cascading into a natural pool where you can swim. Afterwards, enjoy a guided village walk through banana groves and coffee farms, learning about traditional farming practices. At a local household, experience the process of coffee making, roasting, grinding, and brewing your own cup using age-old techniques. The village is also famous for its warm hospitality and panoramic views of Kilimanjaro on clear days. A packed lunch or traditional Chagga meal will be enjoyed before returning to Arusha.
