Day 1: Lake Eyasi

An early departure takes you to Lake Eyasi, a cultural treasure located on the southern edge of the Ngorongoro Highlands. This area is famous as the home of the Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa, and the Datoga, skilled blacksmiths and herders. On arrival, join the Hadzabe on a traditional hunting walk, where they demonstrate ancient survival techniques using bows and arrows. Later, visit the Datoga community, who forge tools and jewelers using fire and stones, showcasing skills passed down for generations. After a picnic lunch near the alkaline lake, enjoy a short exploration along the shoreline, where flamingos and migratory birds feed in shallow waters. The afternoon is spent in cultural exchange and storytelling before returning to Arusha, carrying insights into unique ways of life that have resisted modern change.
