Day 1: Mkomazi National Park

An early departure takes you to Mkomazi National Park, a lesser-known treasure bordering Kenya’s Tsavo West. The park is famous for its conservation of endangered species, particularly the black rhino and African wild dog, which are rarely seen elsewhere. Enjoy a guided game drive across semi-arid savannah and acacia woodlands, where elephants, giraffes, kudu, and oryx are common sightings. Mkomazi also offers spectacular backdrops of the Pare and Usambara Mountains and views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. After a picnic lunch inside the park, continue with wildlife viewing, enjoying the serenity of this uncrowded reserve. Return to Arusha by evening, having explored one of Tanzania’s most special conservation areas.
