Day by Day Safari Itinerary

Bird Watching & Walking Safari Adventure.

Day 1: Arusha To Manyara Ranch Conservancy

This is where all of your planning becomes a reality your safari starts now. Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. After we greet you and answer any questions you might have, we'll take great pleasure in taking you out and showing you what we mean. You will enjoy a Transfer by Road to Manyara Ranch Conservancy, located between Lake Manyara and Tarangire. On arrival, set out for a relaxed birdwatching walk, where you may encounter Fischer’s lovebird, lilac-breasted roller, Von der Dicken's hornbill, and tawny eagle circling above. After lunch, join rangers for a Walking Safari, learning to identify animal tracks while spotting giraffes, zebras, and impalas among the acacia woodlands. In the evening, transfer to your accommodation in Manyara Ranch for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park.

Today experience a Transfer by Road takes you into Tarangire National Park, renowned for its baobab trees and elephants. During your Guided Game Drive, watch for yellow-collared lovebirds, African hoopoes, and red-and-yellow barbets among the rocky outcrops. After lunch, a Transfer Game Drive explores the Tarangire River swamps, a paradise for African jacanas, saddle-billed storks, great white pelicans, and sacred ibises. In the evening, you may choose an optional Night Game Drive in a concession area bordering the park, where nocturnal birds such as spotted thick-knee and various nightjars may be seen. Overnight and dinner in Tarangire.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

Spend another day exploring Tarangire’s rich landscapes. After breakfast, your Guided Game Drive takes you toward the Silale Swamp, where flocks of open-billed storks, African spoonbills, and whiskered terns thrive. Raptors such as bateleur eagles and martial eagles patrol the skies, while the Rufous-tailed weaver, a Tanzania endemic, can be found near picnic sites. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed under the shade of baobabs, followed by continued exploration of the savannah. In the afternoon, a short Walking Safari with rangers allows you to spot ground-dwelling birds such as kori bustard, crested francolin, and helmeted Guinea fowl up close, while also learning about plants and animal tracks. Later on, transfer to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Makuyuni Wildlife Area.

Today, you will be in Makuyuni Wildlife Area, located about an hour from Tarangire. This lesser-known corridor is excellent for walking safaris and birdwatching. On your Walking Safari, expect sightings of ostriches striding across the open plains, kori bustards displaying, carmine bee-eaters flitting among shrubs, and possibly augur buzzards circling high above. Smaller birds such as red-cheeked cordon-bleu and yellow-fronted canary are also common here. Before lunch, you will visit a local community to learn how pastoral traditions blend with wildlife conservation. After lunch in Makuyuni, enjoy a scenic Transfer by Road back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.

Cancellations made more than 30 days before the start of the tour will be fully refunded. Cancellations made between 15 and 30 days will incur a 50% charge. For cancellations made within 14 days, no refunds will be issued.
