Day by Day Safari Itinerary

An Adventure Where Mountains Touch the Sky and Lions Roam the Land.

Day 1: Marangu Gate To Mandara Hut

Transfer by road from Arusha to Marangu Gate where you meet your mountain team and begin your trek. The trail passes through lush rainforest alive with wildlife blue monkeys leap between branches, while bird calls echo through the thick canopy. The air is humid, and the trail is lined with giant ferns and moss-covered trees. After 4–5 hours of trekking, you arrive at Mandara Hut. Here, you will settle in and enjoy dinner. A short acclimatization walk to Maundi Crater provides sweeping views over the plains below.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

After breakfast, continue the climb through the upper rainforest and into open moorlands. The scenery changes dramatically with giant lobelias and heather shrubs stretching across the highlands. Kilimanjaro’s twin peaks, Mawenzi and Kibo, come into view as you progress. The day’s trek lasts around 6 hours before arriving at Horombo Hut. Dinner and overnight at the hut with stunning mountain views.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day (Horombo)

Today is reserved for acclimatization. You’ll hike up towards Zebra Rocks, a striking volcanic rock formation, and enjoy sweeping views of the alpine desert before returning to Horombo Hut. This walk helps your body adjust to altitude while offering magnificent photo opportunities. Overnight again at Horombo.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Embark on a hike through the alpine desert towards Kibo Hut, where landscapes become stark and lunar-like. With few plants and expansive vistas, this section of the mountain feels otherworldly. After reaching a suitable altitude point, descend back to Horombo Hut for overnight, enjoying the incredible feeling of standing close to Kilimanjaro’s upper slopes.

Day 5: Descend to Marangu Gate & Transfer to Arusha

Trek back down through moorlands and rainforest to Marangu Gate. Collect your trekking certificate, bid farewell to your guides, and transfer by road to Arusha for an overnight rest.

Day 6: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, transfer by road to Tarangire National Park. Begin your safari adventure with a transfer game drive through landscapes dotted with baobab trees and grassy plains. Large herds of elephants are a highlight here, often seen cooling themselves in the river. Predators and plains game roam widely, and birdlife thrives with species like lilac breasted rollers and hornbills. Dinner and overnight in your accommodation.

Day 7: Tarangire National Park- Serengeti National Park.

Today you transfer by game drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands towards Serengeti National Park. Along the way, you will pass Maasai villages and stop at viewpoints overlooking the Rift Valley. As you enter Serengeti, the vast plains stretch endlessly before you. Wildlife sightings begin immediately, from giraffes browsing on acacias to predators stalking gazelle. Arrive at your camp in central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Full Day In Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a guided game drive across the Serengeti. Early morning drives reveal lions on the hunt, while the afternoon brings herds of wildebeest and zebra grazing in golden light. You may spot cheetahs scanning the horizon from termite mounds and elephants moving in family groups across the savannah. Enjoy a picnic lunch under the shade of an acacia before continuing your exploration. Overnight in Serengeti.

Day 9: Serengeti-Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, transfer by road towards Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for a full-day guided game drive. Have a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool before continuing your exploration. In the evening, ascend the crater rim for dinner and overnight at a lodge nearby.

Day 10: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
